Material: Gambiered Guangdong Gauze Silk
Gambiered Guangdong Gauze Silk is created through a traditional multi-stage process that includes coating the silk gauze with Dioscorea plant extract, repeatedly drying it under natural sunlight, and setting the colour using mineral-rich river mud. These slow, handcrafted steps give the fabric its distinctive finish and preserve a textile tradition unique to southern China.

Silk Care Instructions
Silk is a delicate natural fibre that deserves gentle care to preserve its beauty, texture, and shine. Please follow these care instructions to ensure your silk lasts for years to come.
Washing
- Hand wash only in cold or lukewarm water (below 30°C).
- Use a mild detergent formulated for silk or delicate fabrics. You may add a small amount of white hair conditioner to the water — it helps restore silk’s natural protein, keeping the fabric soft, smooth, and lustrous.
- Do not use bleach, stain removers, or harsh chemicals.
- Gently agitate the fabric — do not wring, twist, or scrub.
- Note: For Gambiered Guangdong Gauze Silk , slight colour fading during hand washing is normal due to its traditional natural dyeing process.
Rinsing
- Rinse thoroughly with clean, cool water with
- Add a few drops of white vinegar to the final rinse to help maintain silk’s natural shine (optional).
Drying
- Do not tumble dry.
- Lay the fabric flat on a clean towel and roll it gently to remove excess water.
- Hang or lay flat to air dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight.
Ironing
- Iron while the silk is slightly damp on the reverse side.
- Use the lowest heat setting (Silk or Cool) on your iron.
- Place a clean cloth between the iron and the silk to prevent marks or shine.
Storage
- Store silk garments in a cool, dry place away from direct light.
- Avoid hanging heavy silk garments for long periods.
- Keep away from moths by using natural repellents such as lavender or cedar.
Professional Cleaning
- For Song Dynasty Brocade Silk, dry cleaning is recommended to protect its complex weaving and fine detailing.
- Structured garments or those with mixed materials should also be professionally cleaned.
